This engaging and practical workshop equips transit professionals with the tools and knowledge to provide exceptional customer service while maintaining full compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Participants will gain a clear understanding of ADA paratransit regulations, effective communication strategies, and the importance of sensitivity and professionalism when interacting with riders of all abilities.
Through real-world examples and interactive discussion, the session explores key topics such as reasonable modification, the ADA complaint process, and emergency handling procedures. Special attention is given to confidentiality, effective listening, and responding professionally to difficult customers. Attendees will leave with actionable strategies to foster trust, ensure accessibility, and enhance the rider experience.
